Nearly 50% of our clients are from low-income households (earning less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines). Annually CVI helps more than 1,000 children, adults and seniors acquire skills to succeed at school and work, be active members of their communities, and live safely and independently.ĬVI also serves as a resource for thousands of people each year from 28 counties throughout metro Atlanta and beyond who are seeking answers and help for themselves or a loved one.
This single goal guides the programs and services of the Center for the Visually Impaired (CVI), and we work in a variety of ways to achieve it.įrom our roots working with children in the 1960s, CVI has emerged as a leader in vision rehabilitation and training services for people of all ages and degrees of vision loss. The mission of the Center for the Visually Impaired is to empower people impacted by vision loss to live with independence and dignity.
